Sun Shiney Days

For this picture, I took it in the Garden among a bunch of bright flowers blooming because of the rain. I really like the way the black background makes the yellow pop. This picture is Macro, Center of Interest, and Background Simplified. If I could change anything I would change the focus to the flower.

Rusty Day

I took this photo outside of FBHS and I love how I didn't have to edit it! It's weird how something so simple can be so unique and interesting. I absolutely love how the bottom of the wire is blurred out so the main focus is on the twisted part of the wire.

Fresh Rain

This picture is of a leaf from the garden floating in a barrel that filled with water from one of the first rains of the year. When editing the picture I did not want to do much because I liked it a lot how it was but I did decide to make the water black and white to further the contrast between the bright green leaf and the dark water. I took this picture on a dark, cloudy day in the morning. This picture contains black and white juxtaposition, bright and dark colors, smooth and textured elements, and blurry and clear. If I could have changed anything about this picture, I would want the front tip of the leaf to be more clear.

lovin' the view!

I took this picture when I was taking pictures for the A-Z project. This picture has background included, horizontal lines, and rule of thirds. Something that I would change about this picture is to not have the refection from the sun one the ocean so bright.

It's DEAD!

What you see before your eyes, might consist of a dead Bee; yes, exciting isn't it! It was my first time going out to shoot by myself, so I tried to find some inspiration. Erin and I always went to the Learning Garden, so that’s is where I went. I took a few shots near the entrance gate and then I walk in and took some more pictures from across the green house. I then turned towards the green house and near the opening I see this bee, so I decided to take a quick picture before it “flies away,” well it didn’t; it stayed there and I was able to take a couple more shots of it before I got this near to perfect one; I continued my hunting. Five minutes later I came back and it was still there! I think it was dead or something. Anyways beside that this could have been a dead bee this picture did not require any filter, and it still has enough beauty to capture the eyes attention.

Fantasy Feather

This picture is mainly a product of photo shop. I started with a picture of a feather on the ground, made it grayscale, posterized it to 4 levels, then added false color. I really like this picture because it looks like a drawing and has amazingly small detail.

Sidewalk

This is a picture of the sidewalk by my school. I like it because the letters stick out very well. The grass stands out well adding more detail. The color editing makes it seem as if there is no sidewalk at all.
This posterized portrait of my dog, Lucy, reminds me of those blankets you can buy with your dog's face on it. For this photo I gray-scaled it and posterized it with about 6 shades of gray. The only thing I do not like about this photo is the fact that her right eye is not as visible as her left eye.

Epic Contrast

I took this picture at the garden at my school. I really like this picture because you can see the water on the flower, I also like how the background is black and the flower stands out. I made it black and white and turned up the contrast.

Frozen in Time

I took this picture on a rhody bush out in front of the gym at our school. The blooms were a beautiful magenta but I made the picture black and white to show the small details like the freckles on the petals and the two white dots on each pollen pod. I used photo shop to make this photo black and white and to turn up the contrast. If I could change anything I would make the background a little less busy.

Your regular day bee.

You have your regular everyday bee, just doing its thing.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

I was using this flower as my center of interest, when I had the idea to put it between two metal bins. Since I had tooken this picture during the day, I got the idea of lowering the brightness to bring value to the photograph. It contains Macro, Background Included, and Center of Interest. The only thing I would change about this picture is to have the flower more in focus.

surf board and sunset

This picture was taking at Rock Port. The object at the bottom of the image is the tip of a surfboard. I brightened the image just a little bit and then added contrast to the sun and the ocean.

Wall trench

This line is from the wall in my school hallway. I like the depth of the line because it doesn't look like its from a wall. I also like how you don't see the end or beginning of the line.

Love the Elephants

For this picture I was going for a more classy, old feel. This diamond elephant necklace seemed to fit the criteria. I also love the reflection of the marble background. All I did to this picture was make it black and white.

Beautiful Coast

This is by far my favorite picture I've taken. I took this off the beautiful coast of Fort Bragg, Ca. I absolutely love how the blue the ocean is and how the sun is shining down off the side of the picture. I wasn't expecting this picture to turn out this beautiful at all! :)

Right Place, Right Time

I mainly like this picture because of the way the light fell. There are three parts, a lightly lit part, a brightly lit part and there is a barely lit part. This picture is funny though, because the way it turned out  was completely accidental. It was intended to be a framing picture but it was nice because it also turned out to be very macro like. The foreground is really blurry and out of focus, but the background is super focused, which emphasizes the leaf and the spiderwebs surrounding it. I wouldn't change anything about this picture.

Make a Wish

I found this dandelion all alone by the side of a portable. I used macro and rule of thirds, and I turned the saturation way up. I like the blurry background and distinct seeds, but I wish the green in the background was less distracting.

kaleidoscope

I chose this picture to upload because its one of my favorites. It is a kaleidoscope of a small tree branch. What makes it better from the other kaleidoscope pictures that I have is that it is more complex and interesting to look at.

Center of Interest

Be Careful you don't want to get burned on fire or you'll get burned so please keep it Safe.

Center of Interest

Sunflowers

For this photograph I had my camera on macro, and zoomed way in. I positioned my camera in a way that the sunflower in the front was larger, and the one in the back would  be cut in half. I had turned off all of the lights in my house so that there would be no background.( It was easier because it was night). The only thing that I would have done differently was get the few yellow blotches out of the photograph.

Hallway Memoir

I took this photo in a window of the 100 building during the very beginning of construction in the quad. The assignment was reflection, so I took a picture of my reflection- but did not realize that a man was walking inside the hallway until later. I thought it was cool how my silhouette framed the man. The only editing that I did was I changed the hue and saturation and adjusted the levels. Something that could make this photo better would be if the metal railing behind me wasn't there- that way there would be a better view of the quad.  Overall, I am very happy with how this photo turned out.

Not Your Typical Heart

I took this photo inside of the Floor Store. I made it black and white and selected the area that I wanted to apply the radial blur. The part I would change would be to add more grays in the background blur to define it more, but I like the way this photo turned out.
